Does LinkedIn have any plans to address the location search limitations?
I've seen several questions related to one of the major problems with LinkedIn, which is the location search functionality.In the U.S. you can only search on either the entire country or your zip code -- there's no way to search by state or city, or by multiple locations at the same time, which obviously would be helpful (I haven't tried other countries, so I'm not sure if they have similar issues). And since this functionality has been common on job boards and online dating sites for years, I'm wondering why LinkedIn doesn't implement it here, since there's obviously a demand for it. Is there anybody at the company who monitors the "Using LinkedIn" category of questions? If not, is there any way to submit enhancement requests directly to the company?
None of the options on the Customer Support form apply, except "None of the above," but I'm wondering if that's really the best way to get these suggestions to be read and/or addressed?
Clarification added October 4, 2007:
October 4th: I'm reopening this question to see if there's any news about fixing this problem? I'm really stumped as to what the issue is, since this feature works properly on millions of other sites.

Elizabeth: You are quite correct, of course. The location search feature is not functional either within the USA based on zip codes, or internationally. Sometimes we want to search by regions or groupings of locations. Some of us explored this issue at some length on LinkedIn a few weeks ago, made various suggestions, and offered our help. (I wish that I could recapture that discussion for you but that's another problem) Regards, John

I would like to see this addressed as well. It would also be great if we could search by city name rather than zip code. Not everyone has a list of all zip codes.

Currently, we offer a radius search by zip code for the US (and a few other countries). In other words, you can search for people within 100 miles of a postal code, etc.
We're working on adding other countries and 'near city X'/'within state Y'--expect them within a month or so.
