My LinkedIn account is automatically importing and inviting contacts from my personal e-mail contacts. How do you stop this?

It can't be, you have before tried to import your web mail contacts, so that LI is sending automatic invitations to your personal email contacts, now you have to withdraw them....
To withdraw an Invitation, follow the steps below:
1. Click 'Inbox' in the left navigation area of the home page.
2. Click on the 'Sent' tab.
3. Hover over the gray triangle located next to 'Sent' in the header to sort your sent messages by various message types (e.g., Messages, InMails, Introductions, and Invitations).
4. Click on 'Invitations' from the drop down that appears.
5. Click on the subject line of the Invitations you wish to withdraw from the list of messages shown. This will open the invitation.
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Withdraw'.
Notes: If you get 5 or more “I Don’t Know” Results for your pending invitations LinkedIn will restrict your account, so only invite people that you know and that you sure they will accept your invitation, build a professional network Good Luck.

One excellent reason it's ill-advised, despite LI's encouragement, to import your address book contacts. Invite contacts one by one via a personalized invitation.

Leigh:
You probably asked your LI profile to import all of your address book contacts to invote them to LI
There is a manual way where you choose only the people you choose to invite to your profile
If the invitations already went, you need to go to contacts on top of the page, go to invitations sent and click, go to every invitation sent by mistake and withdraw the invitation
For more information you can click on the "Learning Center" of LI in the bottom of the page to get more knowledge on how Li works
