Which LinkedIn Application Do You Use the Most or Think has the Most Value? Why?

LinkedIn Applications is still a relatively new LinkedIn feature, and I believe it is still only utilized or fully utilized by a very small portion of the LinkedIn network. For those that do see the value in LinkedIn Applications, I would like to ask you 1) What is your favorite applications and 2) Why? I am hoping from everyone's answers we can provide value to all LinkedIn users who view this Answer. Thanks!

I have to agree with Boosy--for me, it's SlideShare. When I need to communicate a static thought or idea set, it's there for me. Most recently, I used the application to create a slideshow of my portfolio pieces to share with the LinkedIn community--a feature that is otherwise lacking on LinkedIn. I can (could) also use it to share word documents, PDFs, etc., all in one place. A great little mini-app!

The Wordpress application. It allows me to post my company blog on my linkedIn page and gives a direct link to every post. It keeps me from constantly having to repost information and it actually adds to my LinkedIn page very nicely.

I know it is not an application, but I have to say Answers. It is much more useful than any of the applications.

In respect of applications The event calendar would be damn useful if it could figure out events that are relevant to me - stop telling me about an event that happened in Dallas (not local) last November (not current). It has the most potential if they can get it working.

The one that works best right now is SlideShare.

I agree wit Peter. I find the Answers section by far the most valuable feature. When I'm able to answer questions I feel I'm helping someone. When I have questions I always know where I can get good responses. I've learned a tremendous amount about issues impacting professionals in other fields, as well as issues impacting other business owners like me.

To be honest, I have had little chance to fully utilise most of the apps. However, the events app has allowed me to share details of conferences with more people. Better integration with groups would be nice though.

I've looked at apps before, and have yet to find anything that's relevant to me. If I attended more conferences, I suppose the events feature would help maximize my networking while in attendance. Mainly, I think that the primary functionality of LinkedIn as a platform for networking and the exchange of ideas and expertise (i.e. Answers section) is sufficient enough.
A phenomenon I see carried over from Facebook is the "application for its own sake", where an interesting but ultimately impractical or even useless app is billed as the next big thing to supplement our online lives.

BlogLink is the most useful application to me. I use it to pull in both my blogs to my profile, and I also like seeing other people's blogs on their profiles. It gives a summary so you can get a quick feel for the blog content. If I'm more interested I can click the link to go directly to the blog.

The word press blog application would be my choice, simply because it brought our humble blog double the viewers, immediately. Comments galore from whence there were none...

I like the reading list app.
The reason why is I spend a lot of time in the car traveling. I've used the reading list to look for audio books that might be good to listen to while driving between sites.
