It would help if you told us a bit more about your band - what music you play, etc.

Dear Darryl,
I do not know your field of expertise...you need to give us more information about your self and your service/product. I did read your profile and I believe that there is not addequate information of your expertise, brand to your potential customers visiting your profile...and as a result may not give you as much business...
I am in the airport business. The airport's brand is the sum total of all the customer experiences at an airport as perceived by the customer.
An airport logo, tag line, and advertising are NOT the airport's brand but should be representations of the brand.
The brand exists in the minds of customers amd is reflected in the thoughts that arise when customers think about a particular service, product, place or person!!!
Every airport has (or should aim to have) a distinctive brand. Airports, like different cultures around the world, have a distinctive ambiance.
Ad-Hoc Brands formed by customers perceptions of typical experiences encountered
Strategic Brands defined and managed by the airport operator in collaboration with its business partners and represents a promise to customers.
World's Best airports are conscious of the power of a well-defined and well managed brand and work to remain on brand.
Some airports manage well their brand and they are perceived as:
-Friendly and Welcoming
-Open, Clear Lines of sight
-Upscale airport concessions
-Good quality airport food
-Professional, courteous airport staff
-Works of art in airport concessions and terminals
Other airports do not manage their brand and they are perceived as:
-Stressful and Intimidating
-Dark and Confusing
-Cluttered and Stressful
-Bad quality airport food
-Unprofessional, and rude airport staff
You must remember that Strong brands extract greater value.
A brand is the company's promise. For example APPLE computers brand is THINK DIFFERENT and promise innovation while at the same time IBM is giving a different message. But be careful If the promise is not meet then ….you have a dissatisfied customer.
Singapure Changi Airport is renowned for its successful strategic airport brand

- “Recreation and relaxation go hand in hand at Changi Airport. Enjoy a rejuvenating massage or chill by the poolside at our swimming pool”
- Be spoiled for choice when deciding what to do at Changi Airport. Catch a movie, play xbox games or be entertained by cable TV unfolding on plasma and LCD screens”.
- “Be enchanted by our various themed gardens ranging from tranquil indoor ponds to outdoor sunny gardens”
- Changi Airport has won over 250 awards. Its customers and shareholders recognise that it is keeping its promise.
I hope that some of the above could be useful for you as well. Also please visit the web links below for general information about Brand and Brand Management.

My son is tour manager for My American Heart. They have been on the road for the past four years and are beginning to make a mark. For them life has been getting from one booking to the next. Each venue they play funds the next and then the next one funds the next and so forth. Their fixed expenses are the payments on a van. Then they have to have meal money and hotel money (except when they have non and sleep in the van) and money to pay for their merch.
They've managed to pay for two of their three CDs. The last was funded by a label. Thats a big move, but the label gets paid back before they do so money from that depends on success further down the road not now.
Financially its a tough road, but worth the effort for those who stick to it.
They use Myspace and Purevolume plus their own web site for online promotion.

Hello Peter,
I think your question would go wasted here under this sub-category of "Customer Service", and you would be better off asking such 'business enterprise start up - related' questions under the sub-categories of "Starting Up" "Business Plans" "Incorporation", in order for you to get a better response rate.
This 'Customer Service' area does not denote the customer service of Linkedin.com, but instead the field/business/industry/profession/industry/occupation of customer service or customer satisfaction.
Have a nice day !
Thanks & regards,
Ajay Merchant.

Darryl ,
Here is a quick to do step.In music you need to attract the masses first. So the album must attract the masses.Let there be no video onlu audio. This will give you a real sense of the effect that the song would create. Now the cheapest way is go across a radio and go repeatedly broadcasting it.If its really good then do dare to broadcast it on a major radio channel. It should be the best song.If you think thats expensive ( althought its not)
You can start your own radio channel
You can relate your song to any advertisement on radio and make your song popular.Once its popular you will create a way for your other songs.
There are many such ideas .You have youtube and myspace ofcourse.and you would need to get some traffic.
You can contact me at kreativekumar@yahoo.ie.
