How many people is realistic for a web agency in the first year?

Hi there,

I'm doing some research into running a web agency and was wondering what is typical growth in the first year? How many people did you employ after one year?

Thanks for any help,

Neil

we started out and remain a Digital creative agency. We scaled upto 16 ppl in 8 months. We first come to a point where we are under staffed for a few weeks and only them hire the most appropriate resource.

all the best!

The answer can vary by a very big margin. Like every other business, it all depends on how much business you will pull in and how much time and resources you are willing to put into your web agency.

Having gone through that process 8 years ago I think the starting point should be about 4 to 7 people. Then you can get more people depending on the volume of business you bring in.
