What VoIP Service do you recommend?
I'm looking to add a VoIP to my new small business and also want to add a toll free customer service number. I have searched all over the Web and see lots of people say to not use Vonage, but I want to know what you use and what is successful.

First of all, adding a toll free customer service number is a great idea for several reasons. Customers like to have a toll free number to call, it gives the perception of an established and successful business, and can expand your customer base by bringing in calls from a wider (non-local) area.
As with the VoIP service, take a look into CommPartners and see if they service your area. We have a customer that recently switched from Vonage to CommPartners because they were unhappy with the service and had complaints.
Also, depending on how many employees you have, it may be just as cost effective to invest in a small phone system and use regular phone lines. You can also order Centrex lines from the phone company that give you some common telephone system features without the up front cost of an onsite telephone system.
Best of luck!

Aaron-
Two answers here because you are really asking two questions. The two questions are 1) what service should I use to establish phone service and 2) I want to add a toll-free number for people to reach me.
Question back to you. Is your new small business going to have a physical location (like a storefront) or is it going to be virtual (like run out of your house)?
Feel free to email me back and we can continue this discussion. Thanks.
