How do you think should be an innovative, barely provocative, IT Mission Statement in the mining industry?

Eduardo, my short suggestion:
Run a SWOT analysis to identify what opportunities and weakness the IT has in your field/company. Try to find hidden/neighbor areas/gaps on this also. Then, you can use the mission to empower your strengths and fight the weaknesses. Study the company's mission to adhere it also.
Good luck.
Best,

Having worked in the past with the gold mining industry, I would assure that whatever IT Mission statement you are striving for, that it aligns with the driving corporate KPI's around operating cost per ounce, cash cost per ounce and capital expenditures (especially exploration) that rule the decision making processes within upper management of mining companies.
If you can define a technology driven mission statement that aligns and can be benchmarked against those KPI's you are on the right track.
Let me know if you have any questions.
