Wind Farm - Alternative Energy - Business Venture
Do you know anyone in the Wind Farming Business - where they install & operate Wind Farm to generate alternative renewable energy. I am currently interested in learning a lot more about this space, cost of operations, setup, deal structures, management requirements, rates, regulations and things to watch out for?
If you know someone in Houston, TX that would be great!!
Thanks in advance for your time.

Anowar,
I have some contacts. None of them are on LinkedIn but I'll ask to see if they are interested. It 'll take a few days.

Hi Anowar,
I am together with an Indian (into Venture funding and consulting) we have access to funding for clean energy projects.
Let me know if this of interest to you.
Market in Europe (where I live) are different than in USA, we have longer horizon than US policy makers. however when US makes a move they go for it - in Europe you will find a lot of wind farm experience in Germany, Scandavia (Denemark especially). France and Italy are lagging behind. Eastern Europe is picking up.
EU is doing a lot for clean energy business model with guaranteed energy prices for clean energy producers (in effect subsidizing CAPEX).
Tell me more about what you want to accomplish if you can.
Yours sincerely
Alexander Kopriwa

Dear Anowar
Dear Anowar
We have followed a few wind energy projects in brazil. We can provide you information on economics and equipment ( Indian companies are large suppliers of such wind equipment). But we are a consulting company and get paid for advice and information. DO you think your project is serious enough to spend money on information we can provide ?
Warm Regards

You could check out vocationvacations.com. They let people try on careers/jobs. This may be a little out of thier usual but even if they don't have a placement, they could probably hook you up with contacts or information.
Good luck.
Contact Richard Amato with the Clean Energy Incubator in Austin. He is on LinkedIn, but I'm not linked to him yet. Use my name as a reference.

The city of Bowling Green, Ohio is nationally recognized as a leader in wind-generated power. Contact the Director of Economic Development, and/or Bowling Green State University.

You can also check out blueenergy.org and Aidg.org. They have a slightly different approach to this, in that they try to minimize the materials needed to build the wind farms so they can be fixed locally.
I also know people at each of these firms if you would like to talk to them.
Glen B also suggests these experts on this topic:
I was recently researching a similar area myself. The American Wind Energy Association site contains articles and reference resources as well as an event calendar containing various conventions covering the type of information you mention.
