What is your experience regarding MBAs? And what about MBAs through Distance Learning, like the www.open.ac.uk MBA?

Hi Alessandro, I have recently graduated from an exective MBA and I actually work in a business school dealing with Executive MBA and corporate education in general.
There is a lot to say about an MBA, perhaps the most important thing for me was that it made me a more confident person. I enjoyed the work I had to do, and it was very hard to allocate time for work, family and studies but it was definitely worth it!.
I cannot comment about on-line MBA's, however, for me what really made my MBA possible was my study group, a bunch of 5 people that became my extended family and with whom I have a great friendship.
I will recommend it, any time!
I think where get your MBA from has alot to do with what you want to do with your MBA.
I think if you are looking to use your MBA to further your career outside of your present company or to gain employment with one of the major players within your industry then you should attend a more prestigious university.
However, if you plan to work with your current company for a while and they are footing the bill then an online program may be appropriate because they don't really care about the name on the diploma. They are usually more interested in you attaining a certain skill set while not taking off a significant amount of time from work.
If you are just getting the degree for your own personal knowledge and it won't affect your job performance or payscale then you should go whereever you can afford.
