Home Based jobs for young mothers
I know quite a few young educated ladies - mostly wives of my colleagues who cannot take up a full time job since they have a small child to look after but can spare a decent amount of time to commit themselves to a job - home based one using the computers.
Can some one help me with the leads whereby we can organise some work for them that will give them a decent salary as well as the satisfaction of doing something positive.
An added info is that they are all either in Hong Kong or in China
Shall be obliged for any lead.
thanks®ards

Firstly, never say, "I'm looking for jobs that people can do from home who have children to care for." If someone does not have time to work outside the home because of childcare, then they do NOT have time to work *inside* the home on a computer for the SAME REASON. Working from home takes real time, real commitment. A person must be even more available than they might be working in an office (available via IM, phone, fax, email, video, etc.). There must be a way to see that the person is online and working. They must have phenomenal Internet access and an excellent computer.
What can these women actually *do*? Are they trained, skilled, experienced accountants? Secretaries? Public relations managers? Executive assistants? Database programmers? In short, they should apply for jobs based on their areas of expertise that they feel they could do at least in part from home. They should have robust profiles on LinkedIn and other online sites that emphasize their expertise and training.
These women could look into the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) -- see URL below. But note that members have to be certified (second URL).

It depends on their level of English fluency (written and verbal). There are customer support roles that can be done via chat email or VOIP.
