Xerox iGen4 or HP Indigo 7000?
We're upgrading from a DocuTech 6135 and a DocuColor 5000 to a Nuvera EA 144 and an iGen4. But I've recently seen the output from an HP Indigo and I'm having second thoughts.
Any thoughts or opinions?

Hi Joseph! First, thank you for your business with Xerox so far! Second, I think the right digital press for your company, whether it is an iGen or Indigo depends on a couple things. What kinds of jobs do you currently run and are looking to expand your business into? and what is your current workflow? To be honest, I think both the Indigo and iGen have fantastic image quality. But other than the output it is important to look at the whole picture... workflow capability/flexibility, feeding/finishing options, variable data, eco-friendliness, range of substrates, business development tools, all that good stuff.
This is a big purchase so I would just recommend continuing to talk to both iGen and Indigo users, and set up time with a sale rep from each company to get the details on the rest of the products/services story :)

Hi Joseph
We have run both and the Indigo wins hands down.
BEST!

We personally run HP Indigo 5000 here at Copy Craft. We are so impressed by the Indigo 5000 and have looked at bringing in a 7000.
While I can't speak first hand experience with Xerox (they traditionally are a well respected company) I haven't ever really heard glowing reviews of their digital printing products. I have one client who used the Xerox digital technology for his short run printing needs and he claims that our Indigo blows the Xerox quality out of the water.
I think it really boils down to the application of the press itself. If you are looking for something that is high image oriented I would suggest the Indigo. If you are looking for something which is more "document" oriented then the Xerox might be a better fit.

Hi Joseph,
Indigo woudld be the better option. The only problem I see with them is they have maintence issues but if you are looking for quality look at hp. Igen is kind of just a run of the mill production press the indigo is a higher end press.
Let me know if you have any questions.
