Do you know a decent email marketing package?

I've been looking for an email marketing package that can handle opens, opt-ins, link tracking and conversion tracking. Basically the IndexTools of the email world. Do you know of any?

I use Aweber Mike and I love it

While I have not used it personally, I know several Internet marketing types who favor Constant Contact. I've looked into using it myself, and I think it looks like a pretty good system.

I can certainly recommend Lyris, if you're looking to licence the software yourselves. There appears to be a real trend, however, towards SaaS; where Cheetahmail and Responsys both seem to have a strong offer.

One thing to bear in mind is the effort of keeping up with the latest trends in email deliverability; active whitelisting, blacklist monitoring, spam scoring, active integration with Hotmail, AOL, Gmail etc. Lyris does support all this, but you'll need some resource to keep an eye on it, and I'd recommend employing an external consultant. In the end, SaaS can be easier.

I use Vertical Response, it's great if you're after something cheap and cheerful. tracks your clicks and opens etc and is very easy to use.

They also do a free demo and are very prompt with support.

Mike:

Check out Vtrenz, which we deliver to all of our clients. It is database based unlike some of the other packages which allows you to set-up automated follow-up's and nurture streams. It also provides a robust set of analytics for you to measure and tweak your campaigns for the best results.

Check out our site for the latest white paper.

Mike, many of our clients are using Eloqua. They can provide you with all the email marketing tools you need as well as a full suite of analytics.

I think when it comes to email marketing packages some are toys and some are tools. Eloqua is certainly a tool for those that view email marketing as integral to their demand generation efforts. Their client list speaks for itself as do the kudos they get for support - something that is seriously lacking with other vendors!

Hope this helps.
