Where do recruiters hang out on the web?

Websites like ere.net and workforce.com are informational resources for recruitment and HR professionals. What are some other sites and blogs that are most popular within the industry?

Clarification added February 13, 2008:

I mean only websites for informational resources, forums, industry news, etc... not job boards.

Clarification added March 4, 2008:

There is also a new site to support the large Linkedin Group "Talent Acquisition Management," that I started. This site is http://recruiters.ning.com

Thanks everyone for your great answers... there are certainly a lot of strong resources out there for the industry. Great discussion!

Clarification added March 10, 2008:

The website is now www.talentbar.com, a leading networking hub for the recruiting industry. It is a free site open now to new members. I will be writing site reviews and descriptions for all of the sites and blogs listed in this answer. Thanks again!

You all know who the Recruiting Animal is, right? He's the guy from Canada with the big mouth and the only LIVE BlogTalkRadio recruiting show I know of every Wednesday at high noon, eastern standard time. Animal is always looking for victims/uhhh...I mean guests for his Call-In Show so if you'd like to be one, he'd love to hear from you. E-mail him at msk at rogers.com or call him at 416-481-8016. He uses those crappy FREE VoIPs so tell him to talk loud.

Animal writes on www.RecruitingBloggers.com (I think it's been mentioned) just about every day along with a few others of us who just can't keep our sassy traps shut about the Recruitosphere.

To listen to Animal's Show every Wednesday call in to listen here: 646-652-2754

Animal has been called "Ground Zero" by John Sumser (that's as in this
is the fountainhead not as in "the big zero") for the recruiting industry. Don't miss him. I mean it.

Interesting. As recruiters are competitive, we can play things close to the vest. recruiters within one sector will likely be more guarded with each other than they will be with non-competing recruiters. Here are two places I like: ERE at http://www.ere.net/ and the Ning group recruitingblogs.com, for recruiters who blog. It was started by Jason Davis, aka Slouch.

Miles,

As a headhunter myself I can tell you that LinkedIn is one of the greatest places to find people in our industry. I personally use a wide variety of online networking sites to connect with interested candidates as well as companies. I have listed the links to several that I currently use and have found successful.

I hope this helps.

Recruiters need to think niche, which is where the web will trend (at least temporarily).

To find bloggers, check out jobs.problogger.net
To find writers, check out the new jobs.copyblogger.com
To find social media professionals JobsinSocialMedia.com
To find seo professionals, try jobs.searchenginewatch.com and jobs.marketingpilgrim.com
To find developers, dice.com or jobs.joelonsoftware.com

Recruiters should also get on Twitter and use the tool on IM or their mobile phones in order to take advantage of the tracking feature. You can track keywords and find people in a given industry.

Also try reaching out to bloggers in the industry in which you're trying to hire. They may post about a job for you or advertise your listing on their site. This is a great way to find people who are truly passionate about what they're doing and keeping current in their industry.
