How much time a day do you spend on LinkedIn?
I have come to the conclusion that I am "addicted" to LinkedIn.

I have just started with Linked in, so currently it's like any other socialising arena, however, I'm sure that Linked in has much more to serve...To be precise, I spend about 2 hours a week.

Anthony,
Some people seem to answer between 150 and 200 questions in a week! That must be at least some 15 hours per week.
You still think that you are addicted?

I find LinkedIn a great way it to keep track of my business and friends network to build worthwhile relationships for business. I have all contact information at the tip of my finger tips regardless of where I''m located in the world. Since I value this tool, I diligently use it about 45 to 60 minutes per day upwards to two hours. This can be a great tool as long as you maintain it a little everyday...just like any contact manager tool.
About 10 minutes a day.

Yes I Agree - Linkedin tends to be addictive initially.
However - As time rogresses and when you look back and see whether you have used Linkedin properly - You would realise and de-addict yourself.
Nowadays I spend 15 mins max a day on an average.
Recently I spent significant time on Linkedin every day since I am seeking a new job opportunities in the Chicago area.
Working at the Nielsen Company has been the best experience of my career, however, due to changes in the organization and the recent reorginzation, I am seeking a new opportunity.
Linkedin is my primary tool for finding people, companies and opportunities. As an active member, I understand the value of developing trusted relationships and reaching out to help others or simply offering help to my network. Over the past four years or so, I have experience positive experiences with all the people I have come in contact with.
I am seeking a management position in the Chicago area where I can use my technology and business background to add value. My backiground is an Information Technology leader supported by over 20 years of in-depth program and senior project management background. Experience managing IT organizations, integrating technology with the business, managing cost, increasing revenue and profitability. Team building leader with a focus on delivery of effective solutions that align business and technology.
As an open networker I welcome your comments, sugguestions and assistance and I would be happy to assist anyone who I might be able to assist with connections or information.
Best Regards;
Russ Kovar
I would say that Im off and on it all day. I too, believe that Im "addicted". I see nothing wrong with that though. I feel that its a productive addiction. How about everyone else?

a couple of hours off and on
I find myself spending about an hour during each business day on LinkedIn and probably another 30 minutes or so in idle time during some evenings. I have found it to be a valuable assist to my job search for a Telecom/Call Center Leadership position. It has plugged me into new networks of executives and professionals who I am able to help and who I know can help me in return.

I check in several times a day to answer messages and invitations. I see LinkedIn as the same as attending a business networking event, but I can sit here in my underwear, as opposed to going to an event in my underwear (it's a long, sorted story).
Sometimes I will sit for an hour or two to search out people for networking. Sometimes it's missing former colleagues and sometimes it's to meet new people. Recently, after connecting with a couple of people in my industry who just happen to share my last name, I decided to try to add every Schneider on LinkedIn. Odd and disturbed plan? Perhaps. But what better way to connect with people across the professional community? Perhaps I'll find a long lost relative with great connections, who can make me rich and famous!

It varies from day-to-day, but I average about 1 hour/day. I was spending 2-3 hrs/day last year, but have fallen off a bit. I have made some good contacts and will keep building my list over time.

On average, probably a half-hour or so. I'm not looking to the site to drum up new business at this point, but do read quite a bit from the Q&A board.

I'm not addicted, but I do like to pop in and see the highlights (I love the summary of activity and relevant news pieces on my Home page).
So 5-30 minutes a day, probably totaling less than an hour in any given week.
Tom
I have just completed a consulting contract and I am looking for a full time opportunity in the New England area (Boston, Ma, RI), so I spend 4-5 hours a day connecting with "contacts", searching for opportunites, connecting with business contacts and utilizing the other services from LinkedIn.
Can be very addictive, but a great tool for networking, which will turn out to be very important when looking for a senior marketing position in the wireless technology space.
In 2008 I have decided that I am going to spend around 30 minutes a day working my networks... and since Linkedin is a fairly substanial part of the machinery.. I would say 20 minutes.

I probably spend between 20 minutes and an hour depending mainly how many questions I review or answer... I would guess that I average about 30 minutes per session.
