What are HR or Staff Development Professionals Doing To Combat Cabin Fever?
Cabin fever is about to hit, or is hitting pretty hard right about now. Here in Madison, WI a set of restaurants banded together in a marketing campaign to offer special dinner packages all this week. Great marketing idea I think.
I'm wondering what HR or Staff Development professionals are doing to combat cabin fever? Is anybody doing extra training, less training, different training etc during these post holiday winter months.?

Hi Adam,
As a fellow Madisonian I concur on the weather!
Our Sunshine Committee has sponsored a few activities in the last few months....our fantasy football league just concluded, and we have moved on to comfort food! We had a chili and cornbread cook-off a couple weeks ago, and then a pretty extensive taco bar last week.
A few team members are at a conference right now, with a scavenger-hunt mission from their department manager: "Team members are individually challenged to: find and bring back the craziest/most exciting/weirdest/most inspiring/(insert cool adjective here) practice/object at the Conference; give an impassioned argument why their Team (or a program associated with their Team) should implement it; and, describe how to go about implementation and where to implement." Sounds like fun to me!
At our staff meeting next week, we are conducting a question-and-answer session with our management team at an ice cream shop, with any question ok, serious or funny.
I look forward to any other ideas people are implementing! Great question Adam.
