Are there many freelance recruiters?
Recruiters seem to work mostly in companies ranging from large to huge. I wonder how many freelance recruiters are there? Or how many very small companies managed to survive in this field? Are there any forums or portals targeted at this audience?

SHRM, The Society for Human Resource management has a section dedicated to recruiting and staffing. They also have consulting and outsourcing forums that include recruiters.
I can tell you that as an HR leader, I have these small companies and independant recruiters knocking on my door aALL the time. Some are quite annoying in their business development practices, others come bearing gifts. But they are out there.
Usually the freelancers and small businesses have a specialty like IT, sales or executive management.
