I love how "some people" love to call those who criticize Obama "Republicans" and then mention how badly Bush sucked to defend Obama. A typical false assumption I see on LI daily. These are the same people who label Tea Party attendees Republicans.
Let me enlighten those misinformed:
Everyone who is not a Democrat, does not like Obama, etc. is NOT necessarily a Republican or a Bush lover. It is possible to not agree with Bush or Obama. As far as I am concerned, they are much more similar than people make them out to be. BTW - I also dislike Clinton and the first Bush.
So, what does that make me. Let me guess, a radical? No, let's not resort to name calling. I will help you out here. That makes me a capitalist and follower of Ayn Rand's political philosophy.

What's with all the oozing Obama hatred? Don't forget that when he took office he was handed a HUGE mess created by wild & greedy & undisciplined bankers, CEOs, and other REPUBLICANS. I won't claim that the Dems were 100% sweet and innocent in the making of the mess, but I have to place most of the blame on the Reps. Like it or not, Obama's the boss for at least the next 44 months. If he fails, as Rush the Junkie prays he will, the whole country fails with him. So how about you punks growing up, cutting out the name calling and the obstructionism, and trying to work together for /the good of the country/? What is it about Republicans like you that you can't build anything, but all you can do is tear down? You'd rather see the US crash and burn than give any credit to a Democrat.
I find it ironic that Obama-haters who call him a socialist are lumping him together with Mikhail Gorbachev, who if anything, was the un-communist. If Obama ends up rating any comparison to Gorbachev, I hope it will be as a major reformer. He took a thoroughly rotted out and dysfunctional system and tried to reform it, and ended up having it crumble in his hands. It wasn't his intent to destroy the Soviet Union -- it just turned out that it was so brittle that it could not survive having sunlight and fresh air let in. It is unfortunate that the Russians could not convert to both capitalism AND democracy at the same time, and ended up with a semi-capitalist system under Czar Vladimir.
What will happen with the United States under Obama? Will the evils of generations of plutocrats be revealed and disinfected? I hope it doesn't go so far as having the government be torn down by the people and blood flowing in the streets, but the fact is that our system /does/ need a good airing out and disinfecting. So long as Obama stays within the mold of the last great reformer -- FDR -- I'll be happy.

Sorry, can't do this. Obama is the first black president; he has made huge strides forward in his first 100 days. I have the utmost respect for this man and challenge anyone to do better than he is. It's very easy to sit back in our comfy chairs and criticise, but another completely to be in the position where you are making decisions and expected to get the country back on track in a few short months, given the amount of people you have to deal with. The reality is that it will take a lot of time and we can all do our bit: not leave it up to the leaders to do everything, because put simply, they can't.
