Individuals with good credit histories are having difficulty obtaining unsecured financing in today's environment, so I don't know where that leaves a person with bad credit.

If you have collateral then you may obtain a collateral-secured loan from a lender regardless of your credit history.

An interesting option to traditional lenders is prosper.com. This is a peer-to-peer lending service that services persons with virtually any credit history .

Good luck.
