Can someone suggest how to find grants for filmmakers from Southeast Asia or gay filmmakers for an upcoming production?
I am executive producing an upcoming independent film to be shot on location in Manila. We are currently putting together a team of investors and looking for grants to cover our budget. I am looking for suggestions for grants for new filmmakers, filmmakers from Southeast Asia or gay filmmakers that we might be able to tap in to. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Use LinkedIn to your advantage. Do some company searches for companies like TLA Entertainment Group, Logo/MTV and other companies that might be interested in your ideas. Also, join the groups that could connect you to others who have connections (the beauty of LinkedIn) such as ThoseInFilm (Motion Pictures & Film Industry) and Actors and Casting Directors. Once you have hooked up (figuratively speaking) with the right groups, post your questions there and ask for references or "someone who might know someone". It's not foolproof, but I've had huge success finding good referrals from LinkedIn.
