Id like to know how people in the event industry have used social networking and viral marketing to increase their business
I will be speaking at the bizbash trade show in October and would like to add others experiences in social networking to the agenda. Please give specific examples, sites used and results.

It depends on wich country and community you are ??
For me i live in amman - jordan , its a small community , so i use : 1.Facebook .
2.CSR campaigns .
3.Direct Marketing .
4.Word of mouth .
5. you have to be down to earth.
6.Help some people to find job for them .
7. your social life is very important , i mean your lifestyle , nightlife, car,friends, hang out ...etc

I think we have previously met at an ISES meeting....
There is a relatively new event related networking site called event peeps. I believe it is still in the beta stage - but it has some great features and I have already begun to make some connections. Minimally it give mes me the excuse to reconnect with industry collegues - just by sending them an invitation to join me on this site.
