How are you marketing your availability as a speaker?

Looking for advice and tips on marketing your availability as a speaker especially in the green and socially responsible investing arena as well as in general. Also, is it worth joining the National Speakers Association (NSA)? Can you share whether they "push" opps to you or do you have to cull their resources regularly? Appreciate any insights you're willing to share!

Membership in the NSA mentioned what they provide you as a speaker. They don't push opps to you; but do provide an external directory for people who are looking for you to use. At meetings you build relationships with others who speak at your ideal clients venues. I'm not a member; was an affiliate member, and learned quite a bit from attending meeetings.

As an NSA member, I'll echo what Maria said and add a bit to it. NSA is both a business and professional organization for individuals who use the platform in their work. If you're serious about making speaking (and allied fields) a business, it's the place to be. It's not a speakers bureau, but an excellent source of information and relationships (not merely contacts) in the industry.
