Hi Srinivas
Wow.... here's how I see it... overall.
Marketing does not need communications added to it, if you are not communicating you are not marketing. In the present climate the need to be perceived correctly and be distinctive will be the defining factor in your success in any industry.

To succeed in marketing you need
1. An understanding of sales including the process of collating data and a structured methodology to complete each sale.
2. The power of the Internet and its many new cloaks
3. An understanding of the media
4. To be always learning about technology and its repercussions on marketing.

Remuneration is down to many things... and will not be easy to quantify. If you really understand marketing, becoming head of sales is quite possible.

Doing communications in any form means interaction with others and that in itself if you are outgoing can be great fun.

Hope this helps, Simon
