Regarding Freight Forwarding Fee..across cross border

Freight Forwarding fee is generally based on "per container" or "per space/weigth (LCL)" ,for Ocean transit
and is "per weight" or "per package" or "per air way bill" for Air transit
what is the fee based on in case of Cross Border?

Hi Krishna,
for the definitions you mentioned, for what type of shipments do these charges apply? I'm just wondering if you're answering your own question, or if you're just not clear on definitions.

Neither is right. Freight Forwarding Fees are charged by freight forwarders based on a flat fee . The fee is not assessed by Container (FCL, or LCL) or package but per shipment regardles of the qty of pks or conts the fee can vary from forwarder to forwarder. Hope this help.

i'm not sure your question is clear.
the cost of shipment generally depends on the highest among gross weight and taxable weight (form italy to us for lcl = volumex330, in air freight volume x167). the taxable weight must be multiplied by the value of the freight plus additional charges such as fuel, security and whatever. in addition you will have other charges per shipment (documents management, custom entry, export custom), other per gross weight (generally deliveries) and so on. depending on agreements with freight forwarder you sometimes can see these costs in terms of value/unit (box, pallet or whatever).
i'm sure your ff can be very clear on these items. if you wish u can try to "force" them to make a quotation fitting your needs ($/cartoon or per unit instead of this very complicated list of costs)
