Can someone recommend a good online content management process/application?

I'm looking for a tool that allows for editing and check-offs/approvals for several people.

If you are looking for an IT governance tool which provides approvals throughout a workflow, you can consider Mercury ITG which also has documentum as document repository.

I would recommend Alfresco if you want something very robust. If you are less concerned with the elegance OpenDocMan works. Finally, if you want a quick and dirty solution you could use Google Docs with the revisions feature. Google doesn't protect edits but you could see who revised a document, rollback, and you can collaborate using the share feature.

I would suggest the Online Community Builder. It provides simple online content management, reviews and insight into where people have concerns about things in the future.

Darrell,

There are many tools available that meet your description. The one that fits best depends on many factors. The following are some questions to consider:
• Number and location of users?
• Do you want/need a browser based system?
• Have you mapped out your approval process?
• Does the approval process have decision branches?
• What types of documents do you need to review and approve?
• How long do you need to maintain the documents after they are approved?
• What are your security requirements?
• Are there any compliance considerations?

For online collaboration, it's pretty much between Google Docs and Zoho Suite. A lot of people have good things to say about Zoho...

I would stray from going all out and creating an online *community* for such purposes though. WOuld be too much work. :)
