What are the main criteria to consider when developing a purchasing strategy for face - to - face translation services. What are the key KPI criteria that should be used. Who would you deem to currently demonstrate best practice in this area?

Hi Craig,

The areas I would be looking to cover would be as follows

1. Availability - what can of lead time and capacity was needed and should be provided by the supplier

2. Customer Satisfaction - each interaction should have objectives, and the meeting of those objectives would form the is basis of post-event evaluation

3. Language Scope - determine whats languages are needed and assess the coverage by various suppliers

4. Specialist Areas - can the supplier [provide specialist translation knowledge associated with specialised busniess areas e.g. law

5. Volume - How many translators are available

6. Technology - what technology supports interation i.e. audio recordings

7. Additional Services - e.g. Transcription services

I hope this is useful to you

regards

John Currie
