Are you a Camp Fan?
There's a new group on LinkedIn for anyone who ever (or currently) went to or worked at a summer camp. Parents of campers can become part of the group, too! No doubt, your experiences at camp have impacted your life, personally and professionally. We may not all be in the same industry today but I want to believe "camp people" share some common values like ethics, independence, integrity, creativity and confidence. Let's share stories and support the camp profession -- espcially in societies where kids (and adults) suffer from obesity and "nature deficit disorder.")

I hated camp as a kid which is strange because I looked for any reason to get away from my parents. I want to design a camp now for corporate getaways. I was telling a friend about it and suddenly realized I was describing something like Fantasy Island and WestWorld combined. From your profile photo you are too young to know what Westworld is, time to use Wikipedia!

I loved girl scout camp as a child! The crafts, friendships and sitting around the campfires.
I also went to horse camp. Loved that too!
I worked at Philmont for 2 summers and it was great personal and professional development. Thanks for creating this group!
I used to be a Camp Boss, that was not my gender pursausion but the job title I had on construction sites where I managed the accommodation services. In the Falklands and in Kazakhstan. Camp was a series of temporary accomodation units, the same as Gay used to mean happy. Funny how words change!!
