advice about ending a vodafone contract early.

hi there. i am with vodafone and still have around 9 months left on my contract. although i am happy with them i want to move to o2 without buying out the rest of my contract. i understand whenever a provider changes their terms you are able to void your existing contract. is anyone aware of any information available for me to do this? i understand tmobile sent texts to their customers last week about changes in their terms for 08 calls prompting some customers to cancel.
