What cultural advice could you give on interacting with Brazilians?

I know from years of travel experience that each country & region has its own way of doing things. My questions are these:
What is important to know and remember in terms of treating Brazilians I meet with respect? (Other than saying please and thank you profusely.) What means respect to one culture does not mean the same in another.
What is the difference between business and social interaction?
Is there a difference in the way one would talk with a Brazilian man as opposed to treating a Brazilian woman?

Brazilians are very proud of their country and very much like appreciation of the country.Football(soccer) is passion of every person.More you know and join their discussions, quicker one comes closer to them. Brazilians have faint boundary between business and social interactions. Women all over the world are same. Handle with tender care.
Good Luck.

Hello Sean,

Why don't you try this site www.lonelyplanet.com (URL provided as a link), as well as check out their 'Thorntree' forum where fellow travellers or hospitality entrepreneurs write in to share their experiences and give their recommendations for hotels/restaurants/sight seeing/transport, etc., with dos and donts, at destinations through out the world ?

You could even ask your question(s) and share your experiences there in the Thorntree forum, and get better and more appropriate responses, share resources or business ventures, since that is an ideal and dedicated place for international travellers, whether on a tight budget or not.

I am not a part of / connected with the Lonely Planet group in any ways and I am just offering suggestions, which could be of some benefit to you by increasing your options through the sharing of more information...
