Why can't I accept my LinkedIn invitations. I am thrown out by login and password, even though I have changed Password several times

This is happening because you have two profiles. The invitations are being sent to the address that is associated with the other account (which has 1 connection). An email address can only be associated with one account, but you can have more than one email address per account.
You created two accounts either by attempting to change your email address at the login screen or by accepting an invitation from someone sent to an email address that was not registered with your first account.
You cannot merge two accounts. You need to have one account closed and then add your connections to the remaining account.
First, log in to the other account. Go to the Accounts & Settings link at the top and choose Personal Information. Then select Close Your Account and follow the instructions from there.
Next, re-invite the connection you lost when you closed the account. You should add a note to explain why you are sending a new invitation, or else he/she might think it is a duplicate request.
Last, once the account is closed, click on “Accounts & Settings” and then on “Email Addresses” and add the email address(es) associated with the old account to your remaining account. You can also change the primary address associated with this account. It’s a good idea to add all your email addresses (even those you use rarely) to your account. You will avoid accidentally creating a second account again, and you will enable people to find you more easily who don’t know your current address.
If you are using Firefox as your browser this could be your problem. i can only use Linkin with Explorer. Hope this helps.

Hello Isobel,
I think your question would go wasted here under this sub-category of "Customer Service", and you would be better off asking such 'user-related' questions under the sub-category of "Using LinkedIn", in order for you to get a better response rate.
This 'Customer Service' area does not denote the customer service of Linkedin.com, but instead the field/business/industry/profession/industry/occupation of customer service or customer satisfaction.
You could also look at contacting the LinkedIn customer service directly to seek support/troubleshooting... Go to the Customer Service link at the end of any LI site page and you'll reach your target there.
Have a nice day !
Thanks & regards,
Ajay Merchant.
