Does anyone have success stories of connections they have made on LinkedIn they would like to share?

There is a lot of superficial connecting that happens on LinkedIn and some substantial connecting. Has anyone met and connected with someone here on LinkedIn and actually had it turn into a transaction or business relationship? If so, I'm sure there are a lot of folks that would like to hear about it, how it happened, and how both parties gained as a result.

Hi! Actually I have met a number of good connections via Linkedin for our new chess instruction business, Your Chess Coach! Just tonight my husband taught two young boys in OH over the net. Their father had met us through LI.

One of the most exciting expansion prospects came from a member of a committee in PA representing a group of 3500 families! We are still working on putting it together, but it could be huge.

There are many more valuable connections. I also got a lot of help with starting this business. I surveyed LI members for the name and newsletter ideas. I can't tell you how much their advice and suggestions helped me!

Good question! Thanks for asking it.

Absolutely! It just happened to me. A client asked me to gather specific information about TV ad rates in China. After hitting my head on numerous walls, I asked the question on "Answers." This terrific man answered and kindly asked his Hong Kong office and I was able to get the information for my client. I am now a full-fledged proponent of LinkedIn and social media.

I am the author of two books on ZeNLP published by global publishing giants who have distributed my book to all online retailers (amazon/walmart/b&n, yahoo etc). I joined linked-in in 2005 (with 50 connections all of whom were my stress management workshop participants). From the royalty figures of my books, I get a break up of countrywise sales). In 2005 I attracted 100 connections (My book title is displayed on linkedin) & my royalties from US/Europe increased by 100%
I became a LION/Toplinked in 2006 my connections went up to 500 and US/Europe royalties zoomed by 500% In 2007 I started answering Lin Q&A, my contacts movedto 1000 royalties from US/Europe increased by 500% In 2008, it touched 2500 (I am expecting royalties from US/Europe to increase by 1000%.
I have realised that networking is a great tool for international authors to script success for their books online............
I thank all my linkedin contacts who purchased or gifted my books to their friends.....or forwarded my profile to others. Thanks a ton Follow the links for more details if needed
